Boyce Park is a 1,096-acre county park in eastern Allegheny County, about 15 miles east of downtown Pittsburgh, mostly in Plum with its southern edge in Monroeville. Established in 1963 and named for William D. Boyce, founder of the Boy Scouts of America, who was born in the area, it is part of Allegheny County’s nine-park system totaling about 12,000 acres. The park is uniquely important as the county’s only downhill skiing park, with ski lifts and a lodge. It also serves year-round recreation with a wave pool, tennis courts, ball fields, trails, a nature center, greenhouse, arboretum, and the source of Plum Creek.
