Bighorn Mountain, also called He Sha, rises in the Wildcat Hills of western Nebraska in Banner County, east of Harrisburg. It was named for the bighorn sheep that once inhabited its slopes and were reintroduced there in the 1970s. The summit also reflects a long local tradition, as county residents have carved their names at the top for generations, a custom documented since at least 1887.
