Concord Horse Rings
Transportation
3
Before modern transportation, Concord citizens got around on foot or by horse, and people coming into town needed places to tie their horses. On Union Street, two horse ring remnants survive from the late 1800s or early 1900s. At one time, horse rings like these would have dotted nearly every Concord curb.
