In 1908, when cereal king C. W. Post founded Post City, round rocks collected from Double U, Lazy S, Conneil, and Currycomb Ranch canyons were made into gate piers for the Terrace Cemetery gateway. George Samson designed the gateway and built it with fellow Scotsman James Napier. Samson was a community leader for 50 years.
