The Roloson Houses are four adjacent row houses in Chicago’s Douglas community area, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright for Robert W. Roloson. Planned in 1894 and completed in early 1895, they come from Wright’s early career, well before the later works that made him one of America’s best-known architects. The group is valued for both its historical and architectural significance and remains a rare example of an early Wright-designed row-house development in the city. Its importance was formally recognized with listing on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977 and designation as a Chicago Landmark on December 27, 1979.
