This house was built about 1778. Daniel Davenport, who lived from 1755 to 1807, and Sarah Nichols, who was born in 1756, were the first Davenports to occupy it. They were married in 1786, and their children from this union were Elizabeth Warrington, Eunice Arnold, Priscilla Long, Nancy Bateman, and Asenath Davenport. The last Davenports to reside in the house were John Armstead, who lived from 1865 to 1928, Susan Ann Silfy, who lived from 1853 to 1937, and their daughter Harriet Ann, who lived from 181890 to 1975.
