The Meyer May House in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is a Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Prairie School residence built in 1908 and 1909 for Meyer S. May and his wife, Sophie. Known as one of the city’s most important early 20th-century houses, it united architecture, interior design, and landscape into a single composition, with George Mann Niedecken helping shape the interior. Later altered after May’s death, the house underwent an exceptionally thorough restoration after Steelcase bought it in 1985, returning it to its 1909 appearance through extensive research and repairs. It opened for free public tours in 1987 and is widely regarded as one of Wright’s most completely restored Prairie residences.
