Leonard Reedy was an early settler in Gratztown in 1816 and a skilled gunsmith from 1796 to 1837. A veteran of the War of 1812, he served as Justice of the Peace from 1818 to 1837. His Pennsylvania Kentucky rifles are found in museums and private collections, and his craftsmanship is considered equal to or greater than that of any known gunsmith from 1650 to 1850. He is buried in Gratz Union Cemetery.
