Established in 1908 in Merrickville, Ontario, Canada, by Ernest Thomas Pastor of the Methodist Church, this was the first Scout Troop in North America. It was founded under the 1908 Scout Promise: "On my honour, I will do my duty to God and the King. I will do my best to help others. I know the Scout Law, and will obey it."
