In the early 1950s, Olcott Amusement Park was a prime destination for adults and children at Olcott. At that time it included a three-row Allan Herschell carousel with a Wurlitzer military band organ, a Ferris wheel that gave visitors a view of the park and surrounding Olcott, and a range of games and rides including the Milk Bottle Game, Fuzzy Cats, Pick Up A Duck, the Roller Skate Game, Cover the Spot, Sky Fighter with eight rocket ships, a six-boat kiddie boat ride with a real water tank, and a kiddie auto ride with eight all-metal cars and fire trucks. Other attractions included Penny-Pitch, the Caterpillar on a wavy track with a canvas cover that raised and lowered, Ring Toss, the Balloons and Darts Game, and concessions offering hotdogs, hamburgers, soft drinks, and ice cream cones. Years later, the Caterpillar was replaced with bumper cars.
