Carver County citizens erected this Civil War monument in 1892 to the memory of the defenders of the Union who served from 1861 to 1865, inscribing a long roll of names and the rosters of Jos. Frey Post, G. A. R. No. 61, J. C. Becht Post, No. 160, and E. Hainlin Post, No. 70.
