Kilkenny Hill is a mountain in central New York, northwest of Unadilla, within the Northern Allegheny Plateau ecoregion. In the mid-1800s, Colonel North built a reservoir on the hill and ran pipe down into Unadilla, where three fire hydrants were installed for fire protection. That project connected the mountain directly to the everyday needs and safety of the nearby village, giving the landscape a practical role in local history beyond its natural setting.
