Talcott Mountain State Park is a 574-acre recreation area stretching across Avon, Bloomfield, and Simsbury on the Talcott Mountain ridge in Connecticut. Known for sweeping views, it is most closely identified with Heublein Tower, a 165-foot lookout on the mountaintop. The park entered the Connecticut Register and Manual in 1953 as a 19-acre undeveloped state park, and Heublein Tower was added in 1965 through cooperation among private conservationists and state and federal governments. Reached by a 1.25-mile trail, the tower and its museum anchor a park that also offers picnicking, hiking, and access to the Metacomet Trail.
