St. Patrick's Mission Church was established by Fr. Dumortier as a frontier missionary church, with its first Mass held in December 1864. Built about 1861, it served as a Catholic mission for Irish settlers and Native Americans and was also used as a school and community meeting place. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places by the United States Department of the Interior in 1987 and was destroyed by a tornado on June 11, 2008.
