One-half mile west, this old trail went up a steep canyon. The famous Old Spotted Tail Trail was used by both chiefs Sitting Bull and Hump, who traveled this road to Rosebud and back. Original wagon wheel ruts can still be seen after more than one hundred years. Sitting Bull used this trail.
