Fort Supply was a Mormon pioneer-era fort and settlement established in 1853 near Fort Bridger in what was then Utah Territory, to strengthen Mormon influence in the Bridger Valley, aid missionary work among the Shoshone, and provision emigrants bound for Salt Lake City. Emerging from regional tensions, trade disputes, and violence during the early 1850s, it became a sizable enclosed community with homes, public buildings, fields, and mills. Mission efforts there rose, faltered, and resumed before the Utah War ended the settlement. As federal troops approached in 1857, Fort Supply and nearby Supply City were destroyed, and Mormons did not resettle the valley until the 1890s.
