The Oliver Three Disc Gang Plow, circa 1909, was found two miles south of Argonne-West on the INEEL. Oliver disc plows were known for their ability to penetrate hard rocky soils with relative ease and were made to withstand hard use while thoroughly turning the soil. Although this plow was well suited to Idaho's arid desert soils, agricultural plants were not, and homesteaders on the Arco Desert eventually lost their lands for want of water.
