The site of the Gloversville Passenger Station and main offices of the Fonda, Johnstown and Gloversville Railroad was a place where many people first glimpsed their new home after migrating there with their hopes and dreams, craftsmanship and skills. It was closely tied to the glove industry on which the city was built and for which it was named, and it honors those who labored in that industry and the enduring spirit of hard work, craftsmanship, self-reliance, and dedication to family.
