The Jester-Butler House, completed in 1920 as the home of rancher and banker Charles Jester and his wife Marion, is an excellent and elegant example of Colonial Revival design by Birch D. Easterwood, an architect well trained in detail and proportions who also designed major Baylor University campus buildings including Pat Neff Hall. Sold in 1932 to oilman Joe E. Butler and his wife Ora, the house displays several elements typical of Easterwood, including a slate roof, wide woodwork under the roof line, and deep red brick. The Butlers owned the home until 1979.
