In 1911, Byzantine Rite Catholics met with Father Michael Korback, the first resident pastor, and St. Nicholas Parish Church in Perryopolis was really begun. The present parish house and three additional lots were purchased from Michael and Mary Kranik. The church basement was completed in 1912, and Divine Services were held there from 1912 to 1918. The church was completed in 1918, and the first Divine Services in the church were held on Easter Sunday, 1918.
