Trappers Point Site, near Pinedale in Wyoming's Green River valley, dates to the Early Archaic period and is the oldest known site used for the mass culling of pronghorn antelope. It has been crucial to understanding both prehistoric hunting and movement across the region. The many projectile points found there, with their varied designs, have helped archaeologists trace changes in tool forms over time. Because points from many parts of the valley are present, the site has also shed light on migration patterns. Trappers Point is regarded as a major discovery and one of Wyoming archaeology's key sites.
