In April 1923, Charles A. Lindbergh, then an unknown 21-year-old mail pilot, experienced engine trouble and landed his airplane on the golf course behind the old Lake Village County Club site. He remained in Lake Village overnight, and during the evening he took his host, Mr. Henry, for a moonlit flight down the Mississippi and over Lake Village. It was the first time Lindbergh had flown after dark.
