Toledo Museum of Art
Arts & Culture
Founded in 1901 by Toledo glassmaker Edward Drummond Libbey, the Toledo Museum of Art grew from its roots in a city shaped by the glass industry into one of Toledo’s leading cultural institutions. On its present campus since 1912, it occupies a classically designed complex that has expanded over time to include the Peristyle concert hall, a sculpture garden, the Center for the Visual Arts, and the Glass Pavilion. The museum holds more than 30,000 objects, with particular strength in glass and in 19th- and 20th-century European and American art, and it also serves as a center for teaching, performances, and public programs.
