Elizabeth "Bettie" Wiley Forbis was born before 1749 and died in 1835 in Guilford County, North Carolina, though her exact burial site is unknown. The wife of Colonel Arthur Forbis, she lived to see the independence of the country established and for many years shared in its general prosperity and happiness. Reverend E.W. Caruthers later remembered her as a cheerful and warm-hearted Christian who would be long held in remembrance on earth.
