The Federalsburg Hometown Veterans Memorial honors the sacrifices of all men and women who served the country, offers prayers for veterans' protection, healing, peace, and remembrance, and recognizes those killed in action from World War I, World War II, Korea, Vietnam, and the Gulf Wars, including the Persian Gulf, Iraq, and Afghanistan. It was inspired by HM3 Manuel Ruiz, USN, who was killed in action, and by all other fallen heroes, with the purpose of keeping their memory alive.
