Ezekiel Cloyd and John Williamson established Stoner's Creek Presbyterian Church about 1795. The congregation joined the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in 1810. Members built a church and camp meeting ground with a shelter on land donated by Cloyd. This place has continued to serve as a religious site in Wilson County. In honor of Rev. Cloyd, the church changed its name to Cloyd's Cumberland Presbyterian about 1895.
