Black Hawk Museum and Lodge in Rock Island, Illinois, is a historic building at Black Hawk State Historic Site, built in 1934 through the Civilian Conservation Corps and later listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. In 1939 it became the home of the John Hauberg Museum of Native American Life, founded on Dr. John Hauberg’s collection. The museum focuses on the Sauk and Meskwaki peoples of nearby Saukenuk, one of North America’s largest Native American villages, through reconstructed homes, dioramas of daily life from 1750 to 1830, and artifacts including trade goods, jewelry, and household items, along with a monumental sculpture of Black Hawk.
