The South Carolina Botanical Garden is a 295-acre landscape at Clemson University that blends formal gardens with trails, ponds, streams, pathways, and woodlands, serving as both cultivated garden and natural preserve. Its attractions extend beyond horticulture to include trial gardens, the Fran Hanson Discovery Center’s local art exhibits, and the Bob Campbell Geology Museum’s collection of more than 10,000 rocks, minerals, and fossils. The grounds also preserve regional history through Hanover House, an early 18th-century home relocated from the Low Country, and a pioneer village centered on the Hunt Log Cabin. Nature-based sculptures by international artists and local builders are designed to weather back into the landscape.
