"Never Again Memorial" Stone

On August 19, 1619, more than 19 Africans were brought to Jamestown, Virginia, and enslaved. Their descendants were subjected to slavery, discrimination, and segregation beginning in 1619. The memorial was dedicated on October 22, 1995, by Immanuel Missionary Baptist Church, an African American church organized in 1825, with C.M. Cofield, Ph.D., serving as pastor.
