Trapper's Bay State Park is a 57.5-acre park on Silver Lake near Lake Park, Iowa, developed in the early Depression years as part of Iowa’s growing park system. Acquired by the state in 1933, it offered lakeside recreation with picnicking, boating, and fishing. Civilian Conservation Corps Company 778 began construction that year, and by March 1934 a picnic shelter and latrines were completed after the project shifted to the National Park Service. The park later came under Gull Point State Park in 1936. Its defining historic feature is the Rustic-style picnic shelter, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, whose stone-and-timber design was meant to blend into the lakeshore landscape.
