Union Hill, three miles southwest, was the home of William Cabell, who was born March 30, 1730. Cabell was a burgess, a signer of the Articles of Association, a member of the Revolutionary Conventions, and a member of the Ratifying Convention of 1788. He died March 23, 1798.
