Chambersburg Market House, erected in 1830, survived the burning of Chambersburg on July 30, 1864, and was repaired and enlarged in 1874 under Burgess John Doebler and councilmen W.B. Gilmore, J.C. Miller, S.M. Worley, J.B. Culbertson, J.L. Suesserott, J.C. Gerbig, T. Cook, and D. Harmony.
