Accotink Bay Wildlife Refuge is a nature preserve on the grounds of Fort Belvoir in Fairfax County, Virginia, established in 1979 to protect sensitive wetlands and wildlife habitat around Accotink Bay while supporting environmental education and low-intensity recreation. The refuge includes more than eight miles of hiking trails, including a short paved accessible route. Its recorded wildlife includes deer, foxes, raccoons, eastern box turtles, black rat snakes, American toads, spotted and red back salamanders, and invertebrates such as the millipede Narceus americanus and the spider Lycosa aspersa. An environmental education center at the entrance offers exhibits, videos, trail guides, and nature programs.
