The Coffey County Agricultural and Mechanical Fair Association was established on November 27th, 1880, with the belief that the community’s need for a fair was proven by the interest shown by all classes of citizens. The first Coffey County Fair was held on September 20, 1881. In July 2005, the Coffey County Fair Association celebrated its 125th year as the longest consecutive county fair in the State of Kansas, sustained by the support of citizens, visitors, and board members past, present, and future.
