Dr. Thomas Malcolm Blake (1917-1989) was born at a house that had formerly been the residence of Double Springs founder Andrew Jackson Ingle, and he kept an office nearby where for forty-seven years he devoted his life to helping others. Regarded as a model of the legendary country doctor, he spent his entire adult life providing medical care for the citizens of this area day or night, in fair or foul weather.
