Construction of the Oroville Inn began in 1929 and was halted by the Great Depression. Two hundred local residents then came together to complete the inn, becoming shareholders and hiring local craftsmen, and it opened on June 1, 1930. Their high standards for quality and pride of ownership were reflected in its modern technologies and beautiful finishes. After operating as a hotel for half a century, the property was sold and eventually fell into significant disrepair. In 2015, with a team of dedicated individuals and the support of community shareholders and craftsmen, the Oroville Inn was restored to its original glory.
