Built in 1909 for William Haman, manager of the Roseville Winery, this house was associated with a local civic leader who was elected to Roseville's first city council in 1908 and also served as a Placer County Supervisor. After Haman's death in 1935, his second wife, Alice, a school teacher, lived here until her death in 1968. Roseville Community Projects purchased the house in 1974, and after dedicated volunteers repaired and painted it, the building opened in 1976 as the Roseville Arts Center. It received a renovation in 1992 and is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places.
