Featherstone National Wildlife Refuge preserves 325 acres of tidal marsh, wetlands, and woodland in Virginia at the meeting of the Potomac River and Neabsco Creek. Managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service since 1970, it is part of the Potomac River National Wildlife Refuge Complex. A railroad right-of-way borders its western edge, but the refuge is currently reachable only by boat, underscoring its close connection to the river landscape. Its protected habitat and waterside setting have also led to consideration of the area as a possible segment of the Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail.
