In 1917-1918, the town of Cape Vincent honored all who served in the World War and remembered those who paid the supreme sacrifice, naming Henry J. Scobell, John C. Londraville, D. George Borland, Harry F. Payne, Michael C. Docteur, Garland V. Cole, Frank N. Dennee, and Charles K. Horne; the tribute was erected with the balance left from the War Chest Fund.
