Tin Mine Mountain, also known as Tin Mountain, is a summit in Madison County in southeastern Missouri. Rising to about 1,115 feet above the surrounding area, it stands above the St. Francis River, which flows past its west end roughly 500 feet below. U.S. Geological Survey mapping shows it as a two-peaked landform, with a western peak of 1,121 feet and an eastern peak of 1,141 feet. Missouri Route E runs along its south side, and Fredericktown is about seven miles to the east-northeast. Its name preserves the memory of a short-lived, expensive mining attempt that ended when no tin was found.
