A historic sidewalk dated January 6, 1914, came from the corner of Howell Ave and Olive Street in Brooksville, Florida. Its raised design accommodated entry into and exit from horse-drawn carriages, lifting passengers above dusty and muddy streets, something especially appreciated by women. It was installed soon after Henry Ford's conveyor-driven assembly line made it possible to produce a Model T Ford in ninety-three minutes. With the first assembly line operating on December 1, 1913, automobiles became available to average citizens, and this sidewalk was installed and became outdated in nearly the same calendar year.
