Melvin Dalton, a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps, served as the original Vice Chairman of the Stream Committee of the Marine Corps Schools Rod and Gun Club and was instrumental in improving fishing facilities and conserving wildlife on the reservation. Born May 1, 1915, he lost his life while performing hazardous duty at the Marine Corps Schools in Quantico, Virginia, on June 22, 1949.
