The Museum of the Marine in Jacksonville, North Carolina, beside Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, is dedicated to preserving the legacy of Carolina Marines and sailors. Emphasizing leadership, service, and sacrifice, it presents the Marine Corps experience through personal stories rather than mainly through equipment or unit histories. Closely tied to Camp Lejeune, it reflects the long military presence in coastal North Carolina and the deep connection between the base, Jacksonville, and the surrounding community.
