Built between 1886 and 1889, the Carmen Michea House is a Sonoran row house, the most common house type in territorial Florence. In 1940 it was transformed to Spanish colonial revival, displaying features such as the stepped parapet and mission-tile canopy. During this period, many Spanish and Mexican architectural features, including the flat roof, were reintroduced. A low adobe wall defines the property lines on the south and west.
