Lake Livingston State Park is a Texas state park near Livingston in the southern Piney Woods, about an hour north of Houston. Covering 635 acres along the shore of Lake Livingston, it opened in 1977 to provide public access to part of one of East Texas’s large reservoir landscapes. The park blends lakeside recreation with the forested setting of the Piney Woods and continues to serve as part of the Texas state park system under the management of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
