Site of Station Creek Station lay on the Bismarck-Ft Keogh Trail, a route that at various times was known as the Sandstone Bismarck - Ft Keogh Ft Lincoln - Ft Keogh Army Trail. It was used by civilian freighters in 1873 and remained in use until the building of the Northern Pacific R.R. and the Chicago, Milwaukee and Puget Sound R.R., later organized as the Chicago, Milwaukee, St Paul and Pacific Railroad.
