Capt. Geo. W. Summers and Sergt. Newton Koontz of Company D, 7th Virginia Cavalry, were executed here on June 27, 1865, by order of Lt. Col. Huzzy of the 192d O.V.M.I., after being arrested at their homes in Page Co., brought here, and shot without the privilege of any kind of trial.
