Waupun Carnegie Library, built in 1904–1905, became one of Waupun, Wisconsin’s early 20th-century civic landmarks. It served as the city’s library until 1968, when a new library replaced it. In 1971, the building entered a second chapter when it was leased to the Waupun Historical Society and became the Waupun Heritage Museum. Its preservation has been recognized at both national and state levels, with listings on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979 and the State Register of Historic Places in 1989. The building remains important as a Carnegie-era public structure and as a home for Waupun’s local heritage.
