Pointe-aux-Chenes Wildlife Management Area is a 33,488-acre protected marshland in coastal Louisiana southeast of Houma, managed by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries. Spread across the Grand Bayou, Pointe-aux-Chenes, and Montegut units, it consists largely of intermediate to brackish marsh cut by ponds, bayous, and canals, making boat access especially important. The area supports waterfowl, deer, small game, inland saltwater fish, crabs, shrimp, and some freshwater fish. Management has balanced public use with protection through limited-access and paddlecraft-only zones, while restoration projects have planted bald cypress to help address wetland loss in the lower Mississippi River Delta.
