North Point State Battlefield in Dundalk, Maryland, preserves part of the ground where the Battle of North Point was fought during the War of 1812. On September 12, 1814, Brigadier General John Stricker commanded Maryland militia forces from within what is now the park. The 9-acre preserve opened to the public in 2015 and combines remembrance of the battle with ecological design. Its features include wetlands, boardwalks, wildflower meadows, and permeable parking and trail surfaces. Managed by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, it functions as a satellite facility of nearby North Point State Park.
